The Mandrake concert on Friday night was exactly as they promised.....
The giant stage backdrop said it in big, bold letters. It spelled Mandrake, and they were there to tear the roof off.Performing at Caringbah Business and Sports Club last Friday night, local band Mandrake displayed exactly the show they promised. From the first note screamed by Conrad Passas's lead guitar, it was obvious that this would be a show not to miss.
Their electric showmanship, coupled with the masterly control of their instruments set the stage for a rock extravaganza. The chemistry between brothers Conrad (lead guitar and vocals) and George Passas (bass guitar and vocals) demonstrated the obvious passion the band has for what they do and drew the crowd into the show. The energy of the two was unbelievable as they played in a spin of hair, sweat and smiles all night, reminiscent of some of the legendary rock acts like AC/DC, Van Halen, Deep Purple and Kiss. Mandrake also cannot be faulted on their musical prowess. Blistering guitar talent was complimented by the considerable skill of Harry T Harris on drums, best demonstrated in an amazing drum solo early in the show. Mandrake have also found an excellent balance between playing famous rock songs from some the of the music scene's most dominant groups and their own original music from their self-funded debut CD Visceral.
Visceral is available to order from their website at, www.mandrake.com.au, or at their concerts."
